THE ANSWER
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV
Rusty Goodman wrote one of the most beautiful and inspiring songs that I have ever heard “Who Am I”. This song always brings tears of gratitude to my eyes and heart. Once when I was singing this song to Jesus, I asked Him why He would die for me and He told me that I was precious to Him and He loves me.
I believe when Rusty wrote this song that the words came from the depths of his heart. “Who am I that a King would bleed and die for? Who am I that He would pray: “Not my will, thine for?” The answer I may never know, Why He ever loved me so; That to an old rugged cross He would go, For who am I?”
The answer to why Jesus went to the cross and suffered all that pain and torture for us is because He loves His Father and He loves us. He wanted to be obedient to His Father and He wanted to prove to us how much He loves us. Jesus knows that without actions to back them up words mean nothing.
When I woke up yesterday morning, I started singing this song to Him and the more I sung it, the more I cried. I know that He loves you but wonder of wonders He loves me! To know that Jesus, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, loves me is overwhelming and it brings me to my knees.
I am unable to bow on my knees because of my arthritis but I bow to Him in my heart. Jesus loves you more than anyone in the world loves you. Don’t ever forget how much He loves you and that He loves you unconditionally. You are precious to Him.
