A CRIPPLING VIRUS

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
1 Peter 5:8 KJV

One of the definitions for virus in Webster’s Dictionary is “the causative agent of an infectious disease”. The devastating and crippling viruses that attack our heart are caused by satan. Jesus warns us to be vigilant for the attacks of satan because satan is very sneaky and he is out to get us.

There are a lot of crippling viruses that satan attacks us with but one of the worse viruses he attacks us with is discouragement. It makes satan very angry when we serve Jesus and he will do all he can do to discourage us so much that we will give up and stop serving Jesus. We must not let that happen!

We are powerless to defeat satan. It is Jesus working through us that defeats satan. Jesus won the war over satan on the cross but we are still in a battle and we need to be faithful to Jesus no matter how many vicious poisonous arrows of lies and discouragement satan puts in our heart.

Heavenly Father, we need Your help. We are living in a world that is filled with violence and hatred and satan attacks us every day with lies and discouragement. Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for our sins. Please help us and comfort us when satan attacks us with lies and discouragement. Amen.
