HE IS ABLE
“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
Jude 1:24,25 KJV
No matter how much we love Jesus and how dedicated we are to serving Him, we are still in the flesh and we will fail Him at times. I love Jesus with all of my heart. He is the reason I get out of bed in the morning. If I couldn’t serve Jesus, there would be no reason to live. Yet, I still fail Him at times.
Last night I received a telephone call from someone who was calling to change the time of an appointment I had set up. I immediately said “I don’t want to change the time” and got upset. However, in the middle of the conversation I realized that I was not responding like a Christian should respond.
After agreeing to change the time, I hung up the telephone and then I got nauseous. I always get nauseous when I hurt Jesus. It breaks my heart when I hurt Him after all He has done for me. Thank God for our Scripture that assures us that He is able to present us faultless before the presence of His glory.
When you realize that you have hurt Jesus, tell Him you’re sorry. I think we forget sometimes that Jesus has feelings too. It hurts Him when we say cruel and criticizing words to people. Jesus loves all of equally. He loves the person who hurts us just as much as He loves us. It is time we stop hurting Jesus.
Heavenly Father, put a zipper on my mouth when I start to say things that hurt You. I want people to see Jesus shining through me and hear His love for them in the words I say. Amen.
