HE IS WORTHY

“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”
Revelation 5:12 KJV

Our precious Saviour is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing. He is also worthy to receive all of our time, all of the talents He has given us, all of our money and all of our heart. Jesus should have first place in our heart. Worthy is the Lamb of God! All hail, King Jesus!

Does Jesus have the first place in our heart or have we allowed our family, our friends, sports and the television to take first place in our heart? After all that Jesus has done for us, He deserves to have the first place in our heart. He earned the right to have first place when He died on the cross for our sins.

I heard someone say “My wife is dead. I don’t have any reason to live. I want to die”. While Jesus loves us very much and cares about us, and it breaks His heart when we are hurting and His heart is moved with compassion for us, it also hurts Him when we love others more than we love Him.

We read in the Bible “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:37). Do we love Jesus more than we love anybody or anything? If not, we need to ask God to forgive us for putting people and things before Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we need to love others unconditionally just as Jesus has commanded us to love them but please help us to love Jesus more than we love anybody or anything. Jesus, You are worthy and I love You with all of my heart. Amen.
