OUR MERCIFUL FATHER

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Matthew 24:14 KJV

Many of us have family and friends who have not accepted Jesus as personal Saviour. Thank God for this verse that the gospel will be preached in all the world and everyone will have the privilege of inviting Jesus to be his or her Saviour. We may hear the sermon our pastor preaches but are we listening?

One of the definitions in Webster’s Dictionary for listen is “to hear something with thoughtful attention”. I think if we are honest with ourselves that there have been times when we weren’t paying attention to the sermon. May God help us to listen with our heart when our pastor is preaching.

Jesus died on the cross for every person in the world and He wants everyone to be saved. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Heavenly Father, thank You for being a loving, forgiving, merciful and compassionate Father. I pray that every person in the world will give his or her heart to Jesus. Heavenly Father, please help us to pay attention to the sermon when our pastor is preaching. I pray that You would encourage our pastors. Amen.
