WALK OR RUN

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
Revelation 22:20 KJV

Several years ago, I went to the wedding of my friend who was getting married. As I was thinking about her walking down the aisle to the groom, it reminded me of Jesus, our Bridegroom. One day He is coming back for us. I don’t know about you but I’m not going to walk to meet Him, I am going to run.

“And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). The wise virgins were ready, but the foolish weren’t ready. Are you going to be ready when Jesus comes back for us? You may be saved but is your heart in right standing with God?

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). Just because we are saved doesn’t mean we are doing His will. Many times we do what we want to do instead of what He wants us to do.

Does this mean that if we are saved we can lose our salvation? No, when the redeeming blood of Jesus is applied to our heart for the forgiveness of our sins, we are saved for all eternity. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28).

Heavenly Father, how I long for the day when I will be able to run into my Saviour’s loving arms. Jesus, I love You with all of my heart. You are the reason I am living and the reason I get out of bed. Father, I pray for every man, woman, boy and girl who has never said yes to Jesus. May this be the day. Amen.
